Ellie was walking around with some of her books in hand. She was off to study hall or as he liked to call it 'Time to mess around.' Turning the corner she saw that the halls were emptying as students piled into their rooms. Something caught her attention however. A guy with a cane tapping his way around. 'Must suck' she thought as she headed up to him. "Hey need help?" she asked. She hadn't seen this guy before in her life.

Erik paused as he heard someone whom he could only assume was speaking to him. He nodded in response to the question. He could only hope that she'd gain the idea just as quickly that he couldn't speak.

Ellie looked at him. She could tell he was blind and the possibility of him being mute was great to seeing as he said nothing. Btu he could have just been nervous or something. "Ok. So you have a schedule I could look at it? Help you find places easily."

Erik nodded, fumbling in one of the pockets of his coat. It took him longer then normal as he had to find the right one which wasn't written in braile. After he'd found it he silently passed it to Elizabeth, or at least in the general direction of the voice.

She took the paper from him and scanned it over. "Ok. So all your main classes are on this floor" she told him. So he didn't have to climb up stairs or anything.

Erik kept quiet, not quite sure on how to respond that time. It wasn't really a question that could be responded with a nod or a shake of his head. So instead he remained still, waiting patiently. Being blind and mute taught you one thing. It taught you patience.

"So anyways" she said as he put her arm on him. "There are numbers on the walls next to you. 1, 2, 3, 4. It all goes in order. So your rooms are 2,3,4,8."

Erik nodded. His main problem was finding his way to doors if there was no clear corridor or passageway from one door to the next. In time he'd learn the pacing and room layouts, but that didn't really change a lot until he got used to it.

"Ok. So...." she started to move him along. "Left. And then right mostly." "It's like a zig-zag if you can imagine that one."

Erik again nodded counting out the pacing in his mind even as he used his cane to warn him of any obstacles in his path. It was to him natural, even with someone walking along next to him.

Ellie watched him for a bit. He must have been some person to overcome being blind and mute. She applauded him in her mind because she knew she could never do that.

Erik was slow, yes but he was having to listen to what the taps of his cane was telling him. He had to concentrate on feeling for objects through the cane he carried. He couldn't see them, so he was forced to feel them. One step wrong and he'd be in trouble. One thing not felt and he'd bang into it.
